160607: Listen and respond with obedience.

So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert, where your fathers tested and tried me and for forty years saw what I did. ” (Hebrews 3:7-9)

When God calls on us we must listen and respond with obedience. We must learn from the experience of Israel who ignored God’s call and deliberately disobeyed which resulted to a tragic end of one unfaithful generation. Our response to God’s voice must be quick and decisively obedient.

The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.” (1 Samuel 3:10)
