161231:Your in good hands

god-holds-our-hands

“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him;” (Psalm 37:23)

We enter the new year full of hope with the assurance of God’s promise that despite our unfaithfulness and disobedience, our God remains full of love, mercy and grace.

“though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.” (Psalm 37:24)

This year will be the same as last year and the year before that. We will always have struggles and we will stumble but God holds our hand and He will not let us fall down so hard that we cannot recover.

Just rise up and move on stronger and smarter.

Our future is certain because we are in God’s hands.

161230: Let Your Will be Done

strong-and-courageous

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified;  do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”(Joshua 1:9).

This was God’s words to Joshua before he lead Israel to the promise land.

As children of God we may feel daunted by the difficulty of the task our Father God is asking us to do for Him. We get discouraged and do not move on for fear of failure. Be assured that when we obey God’s will, nothing is impossible because God will always be with us until we complete the task He laid out before us.

“your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)

By the will of God, it will be done.

161229: New hope and new beginnings

new-hope-new-beginnings

“but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;  they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”(Isaiah 40:31).

When we trust only in our own abilities we fail and grow weak in the midst of a crisis. But when we put our trust in God he gives us strength enabling us to soar beyond what we thought we are capable of and to walk distances we never thought possible.

“The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.” (Isaiah 40:28b)

The new year brings new hope and new beginnings.

161228: God bless you

god-bless-you

“May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.”(Psalm 20:4)

Just as King David was prayed for by his congregation before going to war. The beauty of belonging to a Christian fellowship is the unity in love, the singleness of purpose in Christ and the intercession in prayer that we do for one another.

“We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests.”(Psalm 20:5).

May the grace, blessings and favor of the Lord be with you.

161227: Better days are coming.

better-days-are-coming

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.”(Isaiah 43:18)

God’s chosen people, Israel repeatedly sinned yet God out of His love, grace and compassion forgave and even commanded them to forget their past sins and move on. God has better plans for them. We became Children of God when we accepted Jesus. What happened in our past does not matter anymore to God. We should not dwell on past sins and just move forward to a new beginning in Christ.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19)

Better days are coming to us in Christ.

161226: Unlimited Power

open-gods-gift

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”(2 Tim 1:7)

It is good to start the year being reminded of the great power available to us. Because God is with us we are plugged into an unlimited power source. We are not lacking anything. When we accepted Jesus as our Lord and saviour we were also given spiritual gifts.

“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God,” (2 Tim 1:6a)

Use our God given gifts. It is the spirit of power, love and self-discipline. To be used not for our own benefit but for the building of God’s Church.

161224: The Gift

the-gift

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”(Luke 2:11)

God loved us so much that He wants all of us to be saved from our sinful nature. Our savior was born over 2000 years ago. Thru Jesus Christ, we have been made righteous, justified, worthy to be called children of God.

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:17)

At the end, the only gift that will really matter is the presence of Jesus in your life. Umagang kay ganda kaibigan.

161223: Born to serve

born-to-serve

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”(Mark 10:45)

As we come closer to celebrating the birth of Jesus, we are reminded by God’s word on the true reason why we rejoice. Jesus is God but was born to humanity so He can identify with mortal man. He is our divine God and King but His purpose for being born into this world is to serve us by dying for our sins on the Cross.

“This is the Good News about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God.” (Mark 1:1)

161222: Good News

good-news-of-great-joy

“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.”(Luke 2:10)

Today we remember the good news and praise God to our utmost.

“She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”(Matthew 1:21)

Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.

161221: Salvation for all

salvation-for-all

“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come and has redeemed his people.” (Luke 1:68)

Zechariah prayed and prophesied of the coming of our messiah. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

“He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David” (Luke 1:69)

We are no longer in the bondage of sin and death. We are freed and made righteous in Jesus name.

“And all mankind will see God’s salvation.” (Luke 3:6)

All the glory, honor and praise belongs to our God almighty.
