“And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19)
Today we remember what our Lord Jesus has done for us. His broken body and shed blood was necessary for the salvation of all who believe in Him.
In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.” (Luke 22:20)
And in memory of what Jesus has accomplished on the cross we remember that our next supper with Jesus will be together in the Kingdom of God.
Glory to God in the highest.
