160130: Blessed and Victorious

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” (Ps 84:11)

We start another day knowing that we are entering a warzone.

One that is not fought by men and weapons of mass destruction but of the spiritual kind.

It is a war that has already been won by Jesus on the cross yet fought under a cloud of deception by the defeated enemy – the devil and his minions.

But the good news is that those who trust in the Lord is under His protection. We who believe in Jesus has the favor and blessings of God.

“O Lord Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you.” (v12)

We are blessed and victorious in Jesus mighty name.

160121: Faithfully remembered

“They will be mine,” says the Lord Almighty, “in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him. (Mal 3:17)

God assured His faithful servants that they will be spared when the day of judgment comes. Those who fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully will surely be remembered. The days of the wicked are numbered and they will soon be no more.

“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.” (Heb 6:10)

Let us not be discouraged in our service. Keep our eyes focused on the author and perfecter of our faith. For he who began a good work in us will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

160113: Boldly make a stand for God

“The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” (Prov 28:1)

The sheer pressure of guilt makes the sinner paranoid. He is always worried, anxious, that someone might discover his evil deeds. He is always running away from an imaginary foe.

The righteous in contrast is at peace with himself, others, and with God. He is confident and bold in all his ways for he knows God is with Him. His courage comes from the Lord.

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”(2 Tim 1:7)

Boldly make a stand for the truth of God’s word.

Let your light shine.

160101: Love, mercy, and Grace

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isa41:10)

We enter the new year full of confidence because we have the assurance of God’s promise that despite our unfaithfulness and disobedience, our God remains full of love that he gave us His only Son Jesus. He is full of mercy that whoever believes in Jesus will be saved and have eternal life. He is full of grace that we are saved thru our faith in Jesus. He will always be with us.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -” (Eph 2:8)

God is with us.

151220:The WORD fulfilled

“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” (Gen 3:15)

Today, we rejoice and praise God for we know that in the birth of Jesus Christ, God’s WORD was fulfilled.

We exalt the name of Jesus for we have received from God the greatest gift of all that is beyond human description. For by His grace He has given us salvation by our faith in His Son Jesus Christ.

All glory, honor and praise belongs to our God.

151219: Treasures and gifts

“On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.” (Matt 2:11)

When the wise men came, there was no manger, no baby, and no three kings. God’s Word reveals the truth. The wise men traveled a great distance in search of the King and Messiah. And they were led by the star of God’s light to a house in Bethlehem where the child Jesus was. They were overwhelmed with joy, worshiped the King and Messiah, and presented the child Jesus with their treasures and gifts.

Today, we worship Jesus by presenting treasures and gifts of our changed lives that comes from accepting God’s gift of salvation. His Son Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Glory to God in the highest!

151211: Proclaim the Good news

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.” (Mic5:2)

Scripture tells of the coming of Jesus hundreds of years before. The people of Jerusalem knew that the Christ or the Messiah will come from Bethlehem. But none of them were excited of the news that the Christ was born. In fact they were worried and disturbed.

“When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.” (Matt 2:3)

Christmas proclaims the good news that our King and Lord and savior Jesus Christ was born. He died for our sins, is risen, is alive and seats at the right hand of God. And all who call on His name will be saved. Glory to God in the highest.
