160212: Our labor is not in vain.

“Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1Cor15:58)

Our walk with the Lord will have its ups and downs. We will face persecution and trials when we share the good news of salvation. But just when we are ready to give up, we find strength in the word of God.

“Go now to your countrymen in exile and speak to them. Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says,’ whether they listen or fail to listen.” (Ezek 3:11)

Keep on sharing the good news.

Christ’s resurrection made available to us God’s glory in heaven.

Let our love for God and each other drive us to do His will.

160107: Faith enables the power of God in us.

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” (Luke 17:5)

Jesus was teaching his apostles about forgiveness when they asked to “increase our faith.” But Jesus responds by saying that it is not the quantity of faith that is important but the power of God in us because if we have faith even the size of a tiny mustard seed we can do great things for the glory of God.

It is either you have faith or don’t.

And there is one sure way to have faith.

“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.” (Rom 10:17)

Hear the words of Jesus. Read the bible. Accept God’s gift of faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and savior.

Let our faith enable the power of God in us to move us to do greater things. All for the glory of God.

151231: Our future Hope

“There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.” (Prov 23:18)

As a child of God we have a future hope waiting for us.

The world do not understand this but we do.

It is not what is accomplished on this world that matters but what we have accomplished and stored as treasures in heaven.

“Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.” (1Jn3:2-3)

A blessed new year to you.

151224: Savior

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”(Luke 2:11)

God loved us so much that He wants all of us to be saved from our sinful nature. Our savior was born over 2000 years ago. In Jesus, we have been made righteous, justified, worthy to be called chidren of God.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”(John 3:16)

God’s greatest gift to mankind is His Son Jesus Christ. Our greatest gift to God is our changed lives that comes from truely accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

151218: Shepherd Leadership

‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.’ (Matt 2:6)

God in choosing a place where our King and Messiah will be born chose an unknown place. Not in a place of power nor in the capital city but in an obscure little town of Bethlehem. Born in a manger where animals feed. But our God is sovereign  and is in control. For a different kind of ruler was born one that came not to be served but to serve. One who will be a Shepherd to all.

The most powerful leader born in this world was our shepherd and Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.” (Ps 23:1)

When we submit to Jesus’ leadership we will never be in want. Jesus is all we need.

151212: The Joy of seeing Jesus

“After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.” (Mat2:9)

The wise men were gentiles yet they know the good news that the King and savior of the world was born. And they travelled hundreds of miles just to see the child King and worship the messiah. It is not enough that we know the good news. We must seek the source of the good news and worship Him.

“When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.” (v10)

When we seek Jesus, God will light our way. We will find Jesus when we faithfully follow the light of God. And when we see Jesus our hearts will be filled with unspeakable joy and overwhelming peace.

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

151207: Preach the Word

“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction.” (2 Tim 4:2-3)

Paul gave this strong charge to his student Timothy. To share the word of God with the aim of changing lives. The goal is not to make people feel good but to make them feel uncomfortable of their sin or their ignorance of God’s word. Not to tell people what they want to hear but what God wants them to hear. And to do all these with love and the sincere desire to win them to the truth of God’s word.

“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes:” (Rom1:16a)

Preach the Word.

151205: When our King and Messiah was born…

When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born.” (Matt 2:3-4)

When Jesus was born, Herod,  the King of Israel was worried and disturbed. His heart was full of hate and he wanted to kill the child Jesus. The people of Jerusalem likewise was worried and disturbed and they actually ignored the birth of Jesus. The chief priests and teachers likewise were caught by surprise and have to review when the king of the Jews and messiah is supposed to come. They simply do not have time for Jesus. But some wise men from the east were looking for the child Jesus so that they can worship Him and offer gifts to him.

“On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.” (Matt 2:11-12)

It is a glorious and victorious day to praise and worship our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

151203: The foolishness of rebellious men.

“Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the Lord and against his Anointed One” (Psalm 2:1-3).

Time and again men never cease their foolishness by rebelling against God and His Son Jesus Christ. The dire consequences are inevitable for those who persist to rebel.

“Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.”(Psalm 2:10-12)

But the good news is that we need not suffer the wrath of God, all we have to do is take refuge in God by submitting to the authority of Jesus as our Lord and saviour.
